Therapeutic Orientation

Chad Hofmann is a licensed psychotherapist in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He works with adults in ongoing individual psychotherapy and short-term ketamine-assisted therapy.

His work is relational and informed by somatic and contemplative approaches. Sessions are shaped by what feels most relevant in the moment and often involve slowing down, paying attention to experience, and working carefully with difficult material.

Chad’s approach emphasizes collaboration and pacing, with attention to both psychological process and bodily experience.

Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing is a body-oriented approach to trauma therapy that focuses on how stress and overwhelm are held in the nervous system. By paying attention to physical sensations and patterns of regulation, it helps restore a sense of safety, stability, and resilience.

Ketamine-Assisted Therapy

Chad offers intake, preparation, and integration psychotherapy for individuals participating in ketamine-assisted therapy. He is a Community Partner with Catalyst Insight Collective and works in coordination with medical providers.

Preparation and integration sessions are provided through his private practice and may be billable to insurance when clinically indicated. Ketamine administration sessions are conducted separately by medical providers and are self-pay.

Medical sessions are provided in collaboration with Shawn Olson, MD, MPH, DipABLM, FAIHM.

Training & Licensure

Chad Hofmann earned a Master of Arts in Contemplative Counseling Psychology from Naropa University in 2015.

He is licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Minnesota and completed certification as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) through Somatic Experiencing International (SEI) in 2020.
